Overview

Waratek has a number of core Java products that remediate security vulnerabilities. The Waratek Portal is the interface for configuring those core products and providing additional value such as reporting on attacks, providing strategic intel, detailing their level of protection and more and do all this while being very responsive and highly available. Currently there is both a cloud and an on-premises Portal offering.

This role is responsible for the Portal UI and must therefore be familiar with modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically Angular, Angular Material, working with REST APIs and helping shape the vision of the product. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and will work on the Portal Team with our Product Owner, Backend / API Developer and Test Automation Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a top class, performant UI in collaboration with our Product Owner, Backend  / API Developer and other key stakeholders

  • Help the Product Owner direct the vision of all things UI and UX related

  • Evaluate, customize, and design components, frameworks, and libraries

  • Support the design of our scalable and highly available deployment

  • Work with the team on user story grooming, defect triage, product demos and process retrospectives

  • Support PreSales (prospect) and Customer Success (customer) engagements

  • Mentor, guide and champion all things UI related

  • Keep abreast of the latest UI industry developments, technologies and best practices

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript UI frameworks and component libraries, specifically Angular, TypeScript, Angular Material and also NgRX, REST APIs and Web Sockets

  • Ability to customize UI components.

  • Enterprise-level / complex UIs with the assistance of the UX Lead.

  • Strong CSS/SaaS knowledge.

  • Experience on a multi-disciplinary team including backend developers and quality assurance

  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively

  • An understanding of REST API design, and a conceptual understanding of Java and .NET

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal as well as the ability to build good working relationships with your colleagues both inside and outside the Portal team

  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
